Craft Breweries in Denton Texas
The community of Denton, Texas is located north of the DFW area about 30 minutes and is home to multiple colleges, so it is no surprise that they have multiple breweries for all those thirsty students and the rest of us beer lovers. There are currently four breweries located in Denton along with a number of other tap houses.

The staff was very kind and able to describe the different varieties of beer well. They have quite a selection and it sounded like they have a variety of rotating taps as well. We got flights so that we could sample different beers. We tried 9 different beers in total and really enjoyed 8 of them, so that is a really strong testament to the quality of their flavors.
My top three beers here were the Honey Please, Idiots Hill, and the Town Squared.

Located just off the square Denton County Brewing is in a location that could be considered beer row with two other breweries less than a block away. They have a wide selection of beers on tap with a wide variety of styles. When we went there was a number of Milkshake IPA which is a style that we have not hat a lot of.
They have both indoor and outdoor seating and all service is done from the bar at this time. There was two staff working when we visited. The young lady working the taps was friendly and helpful, but the guys working was a grump and a huge turnoff.
We both got a flight of four beers each and we definitely had a couple of favorites. There were a couple of unique beers. First was the Hatch Chili Gold Crash. This beer had a strong aroma of chilies on the nose, but a much milder than expected bite from the chili on your tongue. The taste was bolder than the spice which is a good matchup. Our favorite beer here at the time was the Dreamsicle Milkshake IPA. It totally lived up to its name with a strong orange flavor with a creamy touch.
- Howling Mutt Brewing
- The Bearded Monk
