Welcome to my travel blog - get ready for a Super-fantastic Journey

I grew up getting to travel on family vacations a couple of times a year.  It was amazing as a kid to get to go to the Grand Canyon and explore Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico on a regular basis for spring break.  There was nothing like loading the five of us into the car and taking a road trip or getting to fly to Seattle to go experience the Pacific Northwest for the very first time.

I still love to travel and want to capture those journeys here.  This blog will be my attempt to share some cool spots to visit.  To build lists of some of the best places to eat, enjoy a craft-brewed beer, visit a museum, and much more.  I am always amazed at what you will find when you get off the interstate and take time to explore all the communities across this amazing country of ours.

Like many of my journeys, I do not know exactly where this blog will lead.  I know that some of the places that I will head may not be on anyone's bucket list, but I am going to share them anyway.  You never know what might inspire you or where you just may find yourself one day.

As the blog grows I will build some index pages to help you find what you are looking for.  Be sure to use the search feature to search by state or city to see if there is anything here that would spark your interest.

National Park Sites - Arkansas

I would have never guessed that Arkansas might be the first state that I would have visited all the National Park Sites in.  I only have one left to go.  I always made fun of Arkansas until I actually visited it. Visiting Bethesda Maryland

I have come to Bethesda Maryland a number of times for work and always look forward to returning.  Located north of Washington D.C., I find that it is easy to get to the National Mall and other Washington D.C. attractions, without being in the hustle and bustle.  Bethesda is the home of Walter Reed Medical Center and the National Institutes of Health.  It has a vibrant downtown area with lots of interesting food options. Getting around in Bethesda is easy by car and is close enough to places to stay that you can either walk or take uber.  The Metro goes right through the area as well so it is possible to catch the metro back to Regan National Airport or down to go and see the monuments and museums. California Cheese Trail

 While visiting the Cowgirl Creamery Barn Store in Point Reyes Station, I learned bout the California Cheese Trail from a brochure.  I love the idea of any type of food or beverage trail, so I grabbed the brochures and started looking at them.  I was surprised to learn how many different creameries there were in the state of California.  I enjoy visiting cheese factories and buying cheese directly from the factory where you find many different varieties of cheese that you will not find in stores because they are done in small batches.  We were only able to visit one of the creameries while we were on our trip.  We could have done a lot more if we had known about the cheese trail ahead of time.
