Under the Dome - State Capitol Rotundas

Don't forget to look up, you may be missing one of the best parts!

As you travel the United States visiting the State Capitol Building, or in some places called the State House, is a great activity to build into your trip plans.  As a governmental building, the State Capital is open to the public and often provide tours, either guided or self-guided.  While visiting the house and senate chambers and learning something about the history of the state taking a moment to pause in the rotunda and looking up can be rewarding.

National Park Sites - Arkansas

I would have never guessed that Arkansas might be the first state that I would have visited all the National Park Sites in.  I only have one left to go.  I always made fun of Arkansas until I actually visited it. Arkansas is known as "The Natural State" and it is a well-earned title.  There are some amazingly beautiful places to visit in Arkansas and I still have a lot of the state to explore.  There are seven different sites run by the National Park Service in Arkansas.  Six of the site are historical in nature and one site is based on the natural beauty of the area. California Cheese Trail

 While visiting the Cowgirl Creamery Barn Store in Point Reyes Station, I learned bout the California Cheese Trail from a brochure.  I love the idea of any type of food or beverage trail, so I grabbed the brochures and started looking at them.  I was surprised to learn how many different creameries there were in the state of California.  I enjoy visiting cheese factories and buying cheese directly from the factory where you find many different varieties of cheese that you will not find in stores because they are done in small batches.  We were only able to visit one of the creameries while we were on our trip.  We could have done a lot more if we had known about the cheese trail ahead of time. Visiting Bethesda Maryland

I have come to Bethesda Maryland a number of times for work and always look forward to returning.  Located north of Washington D.C., I find that it is easy to get to the National Mall and other Washington D.C. attractions, without being in the hustle and bustle.  Bethesda is the home of Walter Reed Medical Center and the National Institutes of Health.  It has a vibrant downtown area with lots of interesting food options. Getting around in Bethesda is easy by car and is close enough to places to stay that you can either walk or take uber.  The Metro goes right through the area as well so it is possible to catch the metro back to Regan National Airport or down to go and see the monuments and museums.
