Just went to Tikka Taco for the first time and really enjoyed the amazing flavors of the food. I ordered the Lamb Kheema bowl with the Tikka Taka Tak sauce.  The bowl was layered with rice, a minced lamb cooked with garlic, ginger and Indian spices, and topped with shredded lettuce and onions. It had just the right amount of heat to it to awaken my taste buds while still allowing the flavors of the minced lamb with garlic and Indian spices to come out.  The serving size was right on the mark as well.  


The Biryani rice is really worth trying if you have not tried it before.  The rice is flavored with spices and it really accompanies the dish well.  White or brown rice is available if you prefer.  


The service here was great.  While you order at the counter when you walk in, they brought our meal to us and the wait time was minimal.  I visited with the owner briefly and learned about how they came to this location and how they also own the restaurant next door which is a vegetarian menu only.  I did learn that there is a much larger menu that you can order from with a wide variety of dishes including a wide array of curries.

I will be back in the future to try some additional options here and highly recommend it to others.

Visiting Bethesda Maryland

I have come to Bethesda Maryland a number of times for work and always look forward to returning.  Located north of Washington D.C., I find that it is easy to get to the National Mall and other Washington D.C. attractions, without being in the hustle and bustle.  Bethesda is the home of Walter Reed Medical Center and the National Institutes of Health.  It has a vibrant downtown area with lots of interesting food options. Getting around in Bethesda is easy by car and is close enough to places to stay that you can either walk or take uber.  The Metro goes right through the area as well so it is possible to catch the metro back to Regan National Airport or down to go and see the monuments and museums. California Cheese Trail

 While visiting the Cowgirl Creamery Barn Store in Point Reyes Station, I learned bout the California Cheese Trail from a brochure.  I love the idea of any type of food or beverage trail, so I grabbed the brochures and started looking at them.  I was surprised to learn how many different creameries there were in the state of California.  I enjoy visiting cheese factories and buying cheese directly from the factory where you find many different varieties of cheese that you will not find in stores because they are done in small batches.  We were only able to visit one of the creameries while we were on our trip.  We could have done a lot more if we had known about the cheese trail ahead of time.
